Sono dieci, cinque a bacca bianca e cinque a bacca rossa, i primi vitigni resistenti alle malattie prodotti in Italia dai ricercatori dell’Università di Udine e dell’Istituto di Genomica Applicata (Iga) di Udine.

Le nuove varietà saranno presentate ufficialmente lunedì 18 gennaio a Udine (ore 11, a palazzo Wassermann), alla presenza del delegato del ministro delle politiche agricole, alimentari e forestali, Salvatore Parlato, e dell’assessore regionale alle risorse agricole e forestali, Cristiano Shaurli. Le “magnifiche dieci”, come le chiamano i ricercatori udinesi, sono il frutto di 15 anni di lavoro di ricerca e di una straordinaria sinergia tra pubblico e privato. Il più grande vantaggio delle nuove varietà di viti sarà la possibilità di abbattere notevolmente i costi delle viticoltura, grazie al risparmio sui trattamenti. Le caratteristiche dei vitigni saranno illustrate nel corso del convegno dal titolo “Resistere per competere: presentazione delle nuove varietà di vite”, che si aprirà con i saluti del rettore dell’Università di Udine, Alberto De Toni, e dell’assessore Cristiano Shaurli.
